Lefkada is an island in Western Greece with beautiful beaches and green-full environment. It is separated from the Greek mainland by a thin sea lane. It is connected to the mainland with a small bridge only 80 meters long offering access 24 hours a day.
Lefkada could be divided in three parts. The eastern part, which faces the Greek mainland and a group of amazing islets, the western part with fabulous sandy beaches and the center part with hidden and traditional villages.
The journey to discover Lefkada islands begins from its old town, located at the northern point of the island. The old town is the center of the culture and entertainment of the island. There you will find the marina, the bus station, lots of restaurants, cafe-bars, super-markets, banks, car rentals and all public services. It worth to walk its narrow pedestrians (sokakia) and visit its museums.
Depending your mood and preferences, for your daily escapes, you will choose the eastern part with its sallow beaches and calm waters or the western part with its sandy beaches and deep blue waters. At the eastern part we propose you to visit Nikiana, Nidri, Mikros Gialos, Sivota, Amousso and Vassiliki. At the western part we suggests you to visit Gira, Ai-Giannis, Pefkoulia, Agios Nikitas, Milos, Kathisma, Gialos, Egkremni and the famous Porto Katsiki. For those who wants more, we suggest to discover the center part of the island and especially the village Karya.
